So, you can compare and see if there are any other cheap versions, similar to the woot. BUT i doubt anything will come close. Based on my quick research, I see nothing. Basically free. Moving this thing from page to page as you read seems like it would get ridiculously annoying after about 5 minutes. No thanks. Maybe next time.
Yes, but if you put it several pages back, as most folks do with a bookmark, this would drop the level of annoyance. The light's base seems to be designed so that it can accommodate several pages. These lights make great last minute gifts, stocking stuffers, or fillers for a gift basket. I'm giving one to my college kid, who studies in bed after his roommate has gone to sleep. I'm keeping one to throw in my next Ravelry swap box, giving one to my best friend, who is a librarian, and a couple to band members, who can attach it to their music when they play night gigs outside. The rest I'm reserving for gift baskets. In for 9!
