... Compaq 6820s 2GHz 17” Widescreen Notebook. Seems like a good deal. New too. There aren't many reviews to be found, but any time you can get a laptop for $600-ish, its probably worth it. I don't need one, but you do. Woot a Compaq 6820s Widescreen Notebook already.

I would not want it.. it has a celeron and comes with Vista BASIC..

I would rather buy a refurb with Vista Home Premium.

Dell had one last I looked at dell.com/outlet, same price.

I like your insights anon#1. I'm not a fan of refurb anything though. And the VISTA issue is an easy work-around, imo.
